EE roaming charges in 2026: Roam Abroad Pass vs a travel eSIM

EE charges about £2.47 a day to roam in Europe, or about £25 for a monthly pass. See what a trip costs, the fair use limit and when a travel eSIM is cheaper.

EE charges about £2.47 a day to use your plan in Europe, on every day you use your phone there. A Roam Abroad Pass covers a month of Europe roaming for about £25. Outside Europe, roaming costs more per day. A travel eSIM costs one upfront price for the whole trip, and your EE number keeps working for calls and texts.

How EE roaming works

Europe daily charge: about £2.47 a day on plans that do not include roaming.

Roam Abroad Pass: about £25 for 30 days of Europe roaming.

Fair use: up to 50 GB of data in Europe a month.

Outside Europe: daily prices are higher, and many countries are charged per MB. Check EE's country list before you go.

What a trip costs

One week in Spain: about £17 on daily charges.

Two weeks in France: about £25 on a pass, or about £35 day by day.

Two weeks in Thailand or the US: much more, so a travel eSIM is usually the cheaper choice.

For short European trips, EE's daily charge and a travel eSIM cost about the same. Outside Europe, a travel eSIM for places like the US or Thailand usually costs much less.

How to switch to a travel eSIM

Check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM on our supported devices page.

Buy a plan for your destination and install it at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about two minutes.

When you land, turn on the travel eSIM, choose it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it.

Keep your EE line on for calls and texts, with its data roaming off, so no pass or daily charge starts.

Bottom line

In Europe, compare EE's daily charge with a Europe eSIM for your trip length. Outside Europe, a travel eSIM is usually cheaper. Find a plan for your destination.
